In the sheltered arms of a cove, off the leeward shore that lines Cape Santa Maria, Long Island, witness magic both above and below the horizon at sunset. With downcast eyes, step cautiously and you will discover more than a handful of young starfish resting on the sea-floor. It’s a trend, if you will, that I noticed occurs in shallow waters off beaches throughout the Bahamas, when tide is out and the high heat of the day has subsided.

As always though, I implore you to return all living sea-creatures to their rightful place, so they can be admired by future visitors to the islands.
